Rooms are one of the categories of structures in GRAV. Except for Wood Rooms, Rooms can only be built after acquiring the blueprint from the Research Station and by having the required Engineer job level.
When you build rooms next to each other the facing walls or fencing will disappear. If rooms are built using the 'preserve walls' button, all four walls of the room (including walls with a door) will be preserved. This can be used to build complex room connections such as platforms adjacent to rooms without removing walls. It is also possible to build multistory rooms using the O.M.C.R room type.
Rooms can be upgraded to a maximum level of 6. Each level increases the rooms hit points. Wood Rooms are the weakest type of rooms. Stone Rooms require a level 5 engineer and are significantly tougher than wood rooms. Glass Rooms are tougher than Stone Rooms and are commonly used to create stunning views from within a building. Metal Rooms are the toughest room type available and require a level 15 Engineer. This is the type most often used by intermediate to advanced players.
Rooms must be shielded by a Shield Generator or they will decay within 24 hours. This is often overlooked by players new to the game. For this reason it is suggested to only start building a base if the Shield Generator blueprint has been obtained. When shielded, rooms will become resistant to attacks and will not decay.
When upgrading the Room Construction Cost Reduction skill, building cost can be significantly lowered. Using up to four Constructorbots when building lowers the cost to 50%. This applies to base items and upgrades of any type, which makes Constructorbots one of the most useful pets.

The most basic room type in GRAV. All room variations are available at start and does not have Job level requirements.
